Our client is a multi facility medical center in CA. They are part of one of the largest, most successful and decorated health systems in the United States. It offers both community based and tertiary medical services. Their location has two acute care hospitals boasting over 800 licensed beds is a not-for-profit and fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

They have an opening for a true "A" player to assist in spearheading the integration of two campuses and the 25+ surgical suites into a brand new, under construction state of the art surgical centers which will be housed on one of the campuses.

Description:

The Clinical Educator (CE) for Surgical Services is a resource to the staff, management and other members of the health care team regarding nursing care practices for the patient undergoing surgical intervention.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current California license as a Registered Nurse (or eligible).
  • A BSN is required.
  • Certification as an Operating Room Nurse (CNOR) required within one year of accepting the position.
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing with a clinical or educational focus is preferred.

Experience:

  • Five years of demonstrated clinical operating room nursing competency is required.
  • Previous experience demonstrating flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Prior experience demonstrating the ability to manage major projects and provide direction and supervision to staff is preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated skill providing intraoperative nursing care.

Special Skills/Equipment:

  • CPR/BCLS/ACLS certification is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, nursing leadership, organizational, and communication (oral and written skills) are required, as are instructional skills to convey clinical practice to staff.
  • Advanced computer skills are required.
