OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

Salary: $45,760.00 - $62,400.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the provision of occupational therapy treatments under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Help patients develop, recover, improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living and working environments.
  • Educate patients and their caregivers on treatment regimes, equipment use, and home exercises.
  • Adapt treatment plans as necessary under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist to meet the needs of the patients.
  • Document therapy sessions including patient response to treatment and progress while maintaining compliant and accurate treatment records.
  • Supervise and direct therapy technicians and assistive staff ensuring quality patient care is delivered.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated with the latest therapeutic practices.
  • Engage in community outreach programs to promote wellness and occupational therapy services offered by the facility.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Wyoming or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of therapy modalities and understanding of patient care procedures.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation protocols.
  • Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and adherence to national and state compliance regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in outpatient therapy settings.
  • Knowledge of upper extremity, pediatric, and neurological rehabilitation treatments.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
