Qualifications:

  • Registered clinical licensure in Kansas, or eligibility to obtain such licensure, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a healthcare-related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of recent, progressive experience in a specialized clinical domain (e.g., maternal and neonatal care), including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Fetal Monitoring, and STABLE protocols required.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Direct, supervise, and optimize the operational framework of a specialized clinical unit dedicated to family-centered health services, providing expert care across prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.
  • Exercise strategic leadership by fostering collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to uphold and elevate standards of clinical excellence.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional performance benchmarks of the highest caliber.
  • Oversee workforce planning, including recruitment, scheduling, and allocation of personnel, adjusting resources to meet operational demands.
  • Orchestrate the onboarding of new team members and ensure continuous professional development to address evolving staff competencies.
  • Coordinate unit workflows and staff assignments to maximize efficiency and service delivery.
  • Evaluate unit performance metrics to enhance patient care quality, staff engagement, and operational effectiveness.
  • Formulate, implement, and periodically refine unit-specific policies, objectives, and strategic priorities.
  • Contribute to the conceptualization and enhancement of clinical programs within the unit’s scope.
  • Engage in quality assurance, infection control, and resource optimization initiatives, leveraging data analysis to inform improvements.
  • Interpret and enforce institutional and departmental policies, maintaining rigorous standards for cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Address and resolve operational challenges, escalating complex matters to senior leadership when warranted.
  • Design and maintain daily and monthly operational schedules to ensure seamless unit functionality.
  • Lead research and process improvement initiatives aimed at advancing service delivery standards.
  • Convene a minimum of 10 annual staff briefings to review procedural updates and policy revisions, with documented minutes submitted within 14 days.
  • Facilitate unit preparedness for state and federal regulatory evaluations, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards (e.g., OSHA, state, and federal guidelines).
  • Represent the unit on hospital-wide committees, contributing to broader organizational objectives.
