Network Technician (Voice)
Position Summary: Provides operation and maintenance services to sustain various customer
environments. Installation and integration support for Unified Communications (UC) and Virtual Private
Networks (VPN). DoD security clearance is beneficial.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
? Operates and administers UC and network application systems along with network management
and security monitoring systems
? Conducts user training sessions, policy, technical surveys for Layer I, II and III systems.
? Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to design and install internal and external networks
? Handles technical issues and incidents through hands?on troubleshooting
? Supports customers, vendors and other personnel for problem resolution
? Provides installation support to implementation teams and accomplishes independent
installation of baseline systems components in the field.
? Deploys all levels of voice related peripherals and supporting UC client devices, voice and video
conferencing
? Performs other duties as assigned
Experience/Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
? Minimum Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching
? Security + CE certification or CCNA Security certification or GSEC certification
? Minimum four (4) years of networking experience, preferably Cisco
? Ability to manage and troubleshoot emerging IP based Unified Communications services such as
VoIP, ECVoIP and Conferencing
? Knowledge of Cisco network systems – switching, routing, 802.1x, RADIUS and TACACS
? Knowledge of network management and help desk applications to troubleshoot and resolve
component and performance problems
? Knowledge of the network performance (traffic analysis) fault isolations and protocols
? Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, wireless LAN
controllers and Information Assurance
? Ability to work independently 40?50 hours per week depending on demand
Work Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Some weekend and afterhours work required. Some
travel required.
