About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Network / Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize their on‑premises infrastructure. This onsite role in Columbus is ideal for a hands‑on IT professional who enjoys supporting a hybrid environment of servers, networking hardware, virtualization, storage, and security systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, group policies, and domain services
• Manage network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, routers, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless systems
• Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper‑V
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to outages or alerts
• Maintain backup/restore procedures and ensure business continuity readiness
• Oversee patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of hardware and software
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls across systems and networks
• Support end users with advanced technical issues and escalations
• Document configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with leadership and external vendors on projects and enhancements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
• Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewall principles)
• Experience with VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar virtualization platforms
• Experience managing backup solutions (Veeam, Datto, etc.)
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work fully onsite
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+, Security+, MCSA) are a plus
