A leading destination management company is seeking a dynamic National Account Executive to drive new business development and expand national client relationships. This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying opportunities, building strong partnerships, and serving as a strategic connector between prospective clients and internal sales and operations teams.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in sales within hospitality, meetings, events, or travel-related industries and thrives in a relationship-driven, fast-paced environment.
Note: This is a remote plus local travel position, but you must reside in either TN, FL, or Southern CA
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients nationwide and facilitate a seamless handoff to the appropriate Account Executive
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads, gathering critical client insights and program history
- Support ongoing client communication to ensure strong relationships and successful account transitions
- Consistently achieve established lead-generation and sales targets
- Proactively develop new sales strategies and recommend innovative approaches to drive growth
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders
- Generate new business through cold outreach, referrals, and industry partnerships
- Track, manage, and respond to all leads using established or newly developed systems
- Participate in transition meetings, providing a high-level strategic perspective on each account
- Attend site visits, client programs, and onsite operations as needed to support relationship development
- Represent the organization at local, regional, and national industry events and tradeshows
- Conduct sales calls with assigned hotel and venue partners
- Develop and participate in familiarization (FAM) trips within assigned markets
- Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive developments
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 7-10+ years of sales experience within the corporate event planning industry
- Experience generating your own leads
- Strong network and book of business
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- DMC experience and/or DMCP certification a plus
- Enjoys cold-calling and having a "hunter" approach
- Self-motivated and confident
- Ability to travel locally 25-35% of the time, for tradeshows, site visits, and industry events
Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 (commensurate with years of experience), plus uncapped sales commission, comprehensive health benefits, 401k with company match, Flexible PTO and much more!
