NICU Director (Level III) - RN - Austin, TX

StaffMed Health Partners has partnered with one of the largest heath care groups in the United States to assist them in recruiting a NICU Director (Level III RN) to lead and oversee operations at a 99-bed Level III NICU in Austin, TX. The director will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care, managing staffing and resources, and driving strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, safety, and clinical outcomes. This role requires strong leadership to foster a collaborative and accountable team environment.

Position Highlights:

• Unit Size: 99 beds, Level III NICU
• Team: 150 FTEs with 2 Nurse Managers
• Patient Volume: Average daily census of 75
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 2-3 patients per nurse
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard leadership hours (on-call rotation with 2 managers)
• Compensation: Up to $173K base salary, bonus eligible, relocation assistance available

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Texas or Compact Licensure
• Bachelor’s Degree required (BSN preferred); Master’s Degree a plus
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NRP, and RNC-OB preferred
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience
• At least 3 years in a NICU Director leadership role (current NICU Directors strongly preferred)
