A dynamic infrastructure and safety consulting firm is seeking several NICET-certified Highway Inspector to support key transportation infrastructure projects throughout central New Jersey. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of roadway and highway projects across the state by upholding the highest standards in safety, compliance, and quality. Focus:
- Conduct field inspections and assessments of highway and roadway construction to ensure compliance with applicable codes, engineering specifications, and industry standards.
- Perform material and site testing in accordance with NICET protocols and DOT regulations.
- Identify non-conforming work and assist in developing resolutions with project managers and contractors.
- Maintain detailed inspection logs, generate daily reports, and document test results with accuracy and clarity.
- Ensure all project documentation is properly completed and submitted in accordance with state agency requirements.
- Partner with engineering and construction teams to provide on-site support, technical expertise, and quality guidance.
- Support junior inspectors and field personnel through mentorship and knowledge-sharing.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and updates in inspection standards.
Skill Set:
- Active NICET Certification in Highway Construction (Level I, II, or III).
- Proven field experience in highway or transportation infrastructure inspection.
- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local roadway construction codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional project teams.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between work sites across central New Jersey.
