NICET Certified (I/II/III) Highway Inspector

A dynamic infrastructure and safety consulting firm is seeking several NICET-certified Highway Inspector to support key transportation infrastructure projects throughout central New Jersey. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of roadway and highway projects across the state by upholding the highest standards in safety, compliance, and quality. Focus:

  • Conduct field inspections and assessments of highway and roadway construction to ensure compliance with applicable codes, engineering specifications, and industry standards.
  • Perform material and site testing in accordance with NICET protocols and DOT regulations.
  • Identify non-conforming work and assist in developing resolutions with project managers and contractors.
  • Maintain detailed inspection logs, generate daily reports, and document test results with accuracy and clarity.
  • Ensure all project documentation is properly completed and submitted in accordance with state agency requirements.
  • Partner with engineering and construction teams to provide on-site support, technical expertise, and quality guidance.
  • Support junior inspectors and field personnel through mentorship and knowledge-sharing.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and updates in inspection standards.

Skill Set:

  • Active NICET Certification in Highway Construction (Level I, II, or III).
  • Proven field experience in highway or transportation infrastructure inspection.
  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local roadway construction codes and standards.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional project teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between work sites across central New Jersey.
