Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill has a great opportunity for an NDT Trainee. The successful incumbent will participate in the training program for an NDT method to become qualified for certification to Level I or directly to Level II. Applications from both NDT Trainees and NDT Level 1s are welcome!

Essential Responsibilities

  • Be documented as a trainee and be actively participating in a training program for a stated NDT method for a limited and specified period of time.
  • Obtain experience under the direct observation of certified Level II or III in the same method (approved for that task by the Responsible Level III).
  • Not make “Accept” or “Reject” decisions.
  • Not independently conduct tests or any other NDT functions
  • Level I technicians are only qualified to perform specific calibrations and tests.
  • Level I technicians are under close supervision and direction of a Level II or Level III.
    • The level I position is not the trainee level, but the first level a trainee reaches upon demonstrating ability in specific tests.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Near vision: Jaeger #1 at not less than 12 inches, or equivalent with one eye, either natural or corrected.
  • Color Perception: 100% correct identification of medically accepted color plates such as the Ishihara test.
  • Ability to distinguish and differentiate between the colors used in the method for which certification is sought.
