This role will be responsible for
- Originating conventional and government residential mortgage loans
- Building and maintaining referral relationships with realtors, builders, and developers
- Acting as the main point of contact for applicants throughout the loan process
- Structuring loan terms based on credit risk and underwriting standards
- Facilitating communication with attorneys, title companies, and related professionals
- Ensuring all loan documentation and processing complies with regulatory requirements
Expectations will include
- Meeting minimum production goals through proactive outreach and networking
- Attending open houses, industry events, and community functions
- Explaining loan products, terms, and disclosures in a clear, compliant manner
- Conducting borrower interviews, collecting necessary documentation, and completing credit analyses
- Supporting fraud detection, loan compliance, and risk management practices
- Maintaining strong knowledge of real estate market trends and mortgage regulations
A qualified candidate will possess the following
- Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of related experience in mortgage lending or financial services
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to meet clients and attend events
- Active registration and good standing with the NMLS Registry (required upon hire)
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry-specific software (e.g., Encompass, LaserPro)
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first attitude
