Metallurgist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Metallurgist to join our team in a hands-on technical role. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in metallurgy or materials science and a proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges in a dynamic plant environment. This role will be tailored based on the plant’s needs and the candidate’s background, offering a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to process and product metallurgy efforts across the facility

• Lead or support initiatives for product and process improvements

• Investigate and resolve technical problems and quality concerns throughout the plant

• Analyze and manage customer complaints and claims with technical precision

• Support the development of specialized steel grades for unique applications

• Provide metallurgical training to teammates and internal stakeholders

• Serve as a technical resource for customers and technical service representatives

• Drive continuous improvement within the quality management system

• Maintain and promote a strong commitment to safety, following all policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with steelmaking processes or production environments

• Prior leadership or project management experience in a manufacturing or technical setting
