POSITION: Medical Technologist

LOCATION: St Petersburg, FL

DURATION: 6 Months

NO OF POSITION: 1

SHIFT: FT/ Evening Shift 5 days per week 2:30- 11P (rotating weekends)

OVERVIEW:

• Seeking a hospital based Medical Technologist to provide expertise and champion results. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels the patient experience is as meaningful as we do.
• JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing and analyze proficiency testing samples according to instructions and complete within the allowable time frame
• Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor
• Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets
• Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results. (Including performing delta checks, etc.)
• Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs; resolve any outstanding workload or communicate to staff relief
• Take pertinent corrective action when the patient, quality control, standard, calibration and/or proficiency results are not within appropriate guidelines

REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate’s Degree/ Bachelors
• A 4 yr Bachelors Degree in Med technology is preferred
• A State of Florida Medical Technologist License
• Licensure in one or more clinical specialty areas: (Generalist highly preferred): Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology
• Medical Technologist experience in a clinical setting
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical or reference lab setting is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply
• A State of Florida Medical Technologist License
