Our client is seeking a successful Medical Technician to assist in taking a great department to new heights of quality and efficiency.

A Medical Laboratory Technician performs clinical laboratory procedures and examinations which require limited exercise of independent judgment and which are performed under the supervision of a clinical laboratory technologist, laboratory supervisor, or director of a clinical laboratory. Under the direction of a Technical Specialist or charge technologist, a Medical Laboratory Technician provides prompt and accurate laboratory test results and/or prepares products for transfusion in support of patient care, using established and approved protocols which require some degree of independent judgment, interpretation, and responsibility May be assigned responsibility to train other clinical laboratory personnel and or/students.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Qualifications:

• Candidate must be qualified as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in accordance with New York State Department of Health regulations

Experience:

• Experience in standard laboratory methodologies required. Previous Clinical Laboratory experience preferred.

Licensure/Certificates:

• Licensure by NYS SED as a Clinical Laboratory Technician required or licensure-eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician.
• Limited Permit is granted to individuals that meet the educational requirements for licensure except for the licensing examination which must be taken within one year from the issuance of a limited permit
