Medical Science Liaison – Diagnostics & Clinical Evidence Remote (U.S.) Full-Time
Overview

Our client is a fast-growing healthcare technology company focused on unlocking the value of complex medical data to improve research, diagnostics, and patient care. Their platform aggregates and structures medical records from multiple sources, applying advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to generate clinically meaningful insights.

As the organization continues to expand its partnerships across the diagnostics and oncology ecosystem, they are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as a key scientific partner to external clients and internal teams. This individual will help translate complex clinical and diagnostic requirements into actionable insights while ensuring partners fully understand and leverage the platform’s real-world data capabilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the scientific liaison supporting diagnostic partners, helping define data needs, manage expectations, and translate clinical requirements into platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with client-facing teams to strengthen relationships with key accounts and ensure high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
  • Apply clinical expertise to develop and refine data extraction logic that captures diagnostic nuances, treatment sequencing, and relevant clinical markers.
  • Communicate complex concepts related to oncology treatments, genomics, clinical outcomes, and data extraction processes in a clear and accessible way.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on oncology and real-world data applications during client meetings and scientific discussions.
  • Support client research initiatives by advising on the interpretation, provenance, and appropriate use of real-world data generated through advanced analytics and AI.
  • Provide scientific guidance on the design and execution of real-world evidence studies leveraging the platform’s datasets.
  • Troubleshoot client data questions and provide scientific explanations for anomalies, trends, or insights.
  • Partner with internal product, engineering, and data teams to translate external scientific requirements into new platform capabilities and features.
  • Review data outputs and products to ensure they meet scientific rigor, client expectations, and relevant regulatory considerations.
  • Contribute to joint publications, research collaborations, and thought leadership with external partners.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences and scientific forums to highlight platform capabilities and emerging insights.

What You’ll Need

  • PhD in a life sciences or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison within oncology diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including diagnostics partners, researchers, and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Experience working with structured clinical datasets and real-world data analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Comfort operating in a remote, fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with electronic medical records and healthcare data ecosystems such as HIEs or national interoperability networks.
  • Understanding of data validation, quality assessment, and limitations of real-world data.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to critically interpret scientific and clinical datasets.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence or dashboarding tools (e.g., QuickSight, Power BI).
  • Experience working with large datasets using Python or R.
  • Exposure to conversational AI tools or machine learning–driven data extraction.
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks governing the use of real-world data in healthcare.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of oncology, diagnostics, and advanced healthcare data. The role offers significant visibility with both external partners and internal innovation teams, allowing the Medical Science Liaison to influence how real-world data is used to support research, validation, and improved patient outcomes.

The position provides the chance to contribute to scientific thought leadership, collaborate with leading diagnostic organizations, and help shape the future of clinical data utilization in a rapidly evolving healthcare technology environment.
