Job Description
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT)
Job Description
Expand Your Clinical Laboratory Career in a Critical Access Hospital
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) – Hospital Laboratory
Lamar, Colorado Area
A Rare Opportunity: Broader Laboratory Experience With Real Clinical Impact
Many Medical Laboratory Technologist roles in larger hospitals limit professionals to a single specialty area such as chemistry, microbiology, or hematology. This opportunity offers something different.
A critical access hospital serving Southeast Colorado is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join its clinical laboratory team. In this setting, you will gain exposure across multiple laboratory functions while playing a direct role in patient diagnosis and care.
This hospital is open to experienced laboratory professionals and motivated candidates with hospital laboratory exposure who are interested in growing within a collaborative environment. Strong candidates with phlebotomy backgrounds and laboratory experience who are eager to advance in the lab will also be considered.
If you are looking for a role where your work directly supports patient care and where your skills can grow beyond a single specialty, this opportunity deserves your attention.
What Makes This Opportunity Different
Broader Scope of Laboratory Practice
Unlike large reference labs or specialized departments, this role allows you to work across multiple testing areas. No single specialization is required, giving you the opportunity to maintain and expand a diverse laboratory skillset.
Critical Access Hospital Experience
Working in a critical access hospital provides unique clinical exposure. Laboratory staff play a key role in supporting physicians and nurses in delivering timely diagnoses and treatment decisions.
Smaller Team, Greater Impact
In a smaller hospital setting, your work is visible and meaningful. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership, making laboratory services a central part of patient care delivery.
Less Bureaucracy, Faster Improvements
Process improvements and operational ideas can often be implemented quickly. Leadership is accessible, and staff are encouraged to contribute ideas that improve laboratory workflow and quality.
Supportive Work Environment
This hospital values collaboration and teamwork. Laboratory staff are trusted professionals whose expertise is respected across the clinical team.
Lifestyle Advantages of Rural Colorado
This community offers an excellent quality of life for healthcare professionals seeking balance and affordability.
