Medical Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional technical support for sophisticated medical instruments and systems. This position involves significant travel and requires a combination of field service expertise and a proactive approach to customer relationship management. As a direct interface with customers, you will ensure their satisfaction by performing installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks with professionalism and precision.

Salary: €45,000 to €75,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support per customer service level agreements, including installations, deinstallations, relocations, and certifications (IQ/OQ).
  • Deliver remote support, diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems; onsite visits for complex issues that cannot be resolved remotely.
  • Execute field corrective actions, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on all diagnostics instruments and systems according to regulatory and procedural mandates.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and reporting of service interventions, technical issues, and resolutions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and update inventory of personal car stock ensuring all necessary tools and spare parts are available for operational tasks.
  • Escalate unresolved problems to the Field Service Team Leader as per established procedures to facilitate quick resolutions.
  • Adhere to all quality, ISO, and safety regulations as per company and regulatory standards.
  • Educate customers on service contract benefits, terms, and conditions aiming to enhance service delivery and customer understanding.
  • Assess and prepare installation sites to address potential issues proactively and coordinate effectively with technical teams to streamline installation processes.
  • Identify opportunities for service enhancements and customer satisfaction improvement through continuous interaction and feedback from customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid experience in technical service or customer support roles.
  • High proficiency in English and Dutch; both written and spoken.
  • Possession of a full car license.
  • Available for weekend and bank holiday support on a rotational basis.

  • Experience with diagnostic instruments in the medical or research sector.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methods and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
