Salary: $36,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist providers in delivering patient care in a physician office setting.
- Act as the primary liaison between patients, families, staff, and providers.
- Facilitate efficient workflow by managing medical records, scheduling, and communications.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidential patient information by following the appropriate protocols and regulations.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician according to the established procedures.
- Perform routine diagnostic and clinical testing procedures.
- Engage in patient education and counseling to ensure patients understand their disease and treatment plans.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Medical Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants or Registered through The American Registry of Medical Assistants.
- At least 1 year of experience in a related healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in using healthcare software and systems, particularly EPIC EMR systems.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a hospital or primary care setting is highly preferred.
- Additional certifications related to healthcare and patient care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and protocol.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Ability to perform under pressure and in stressful situations.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to accommodate a diverse patient base.
