Inpatient Social Worker (LCSW) – Hospital-Based Role

Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL
Shift: Full-Time Days with Rotating Weekends
Pay: $24.93–$33.59/hr (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 (paid over 2 years)
Relocation: Case-by-case support

Role Overview

Join a collaborative hospital-based team where you'll provide essential psychosocial support to patients across inpatient units and the emergency department. This role combines crisis intervention, discharge planning, and patient advocacy to ensure continuity of care and improved patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for inpatients and ED patients

  • Provide emotional support and counseling during critical care situations, terminal illness, and crisis events

  • Facilitate timely discharge planning with emphasis on behavioral health and resource navigation

  • Collaborate with case managers, physicians, insurance companies, and external care agencies

  • Coordinate patient/family meetings and offer compassionate support during complex decisions

  • Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer regulations

  • Support high-acuity units including ICU, Oncology, Trauma, NICU, and ED

  • Deliver culturally competent, patient-centered care with respect for autonomy

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida (or eligible)

  • 2+ years of experience (hospital, insurance-based, or county-based social work preferred)

  • Exceptional communication, organization, and multitasking skills

  • Must be a self-starter with strong critical thinking
