Mechanical and Research Development Engineer

Join our innovative team as a Mechanical and Research Development Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in the development and improvement of mechanical products and solutions. Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, plus Quarterly Bonus and Generous 401K

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering assignments in a timely manner under the guidance of more senior engineers.
  • Apply engineering method for orderly, understandable execution of calculations.
  • Assist with field and analytical evaluations of designs to enhance performance and durability.
  • Create and revise engineering and manufacturing drawings, specifications, and material requirements.
  • Participate actively in vendor and customer meetings to present findings and progress.
  • Make field trips, including underground, to observe products in operation and identify improvement areas.
  • Conduct reviews and resolve deviation requests for drawing revisions to support manufacturing processes.
  • Review customer orders to determine and schedule the engineering required for support.
  • Approve current engineering records before release to manufacturing for production.
  • Assist in quality audits and product testing as assigned, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Edit and approve content for technical publications and customer documentation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Material Science Engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude with the ability to apply analytical solutions effectively.
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and product design/application.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Dependability and ability to maintain a flexible schedule for potential domestic and international travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a mechanical or R&D engineering role.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, FEA, 3D Modeling, and Drafting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes specifically related to mining and ground control products.
  • Strong technical and functional acumen with the ability to make confident decisions.
  • Leadership abilities with experience in managing small teams or projects.
