Russ Hadick & Associates has partnered with a leading company in the aerospace industry to identify a talented Systems Design Engineer. This individual will serve as the primary technical liaison, managing all aspects of product design, development, and improvement. You’ll work closely with the OEM, customers, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to design innovative systems for washing aircraft engines, powerplants, and compartments. Job Summary:

As the Systems Design Engineer, you will oversee the development and maintenance of complex electro-hydro mechanical systems. You’ll work cross-functionally to create technical roadmaps, execute design concepts, and ensure seamless integration of various mechanical and electrical components. Your role will involve collaborating with a global team and providing expertise on both internal and customer-facing projects. This position requires a deep understanding of electro-hydro mechanical systems, exceptional collaboration skills, and the ability to drive design innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and integration of advanced electro-hydro mechanical systems for aerospace applications.
  • Conceptualize, model, optimize, and analyze complex mechanical subsystems to ensure performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including internal engineering, manufacturing, and customer engineering teams, to refine designs and concepts.
  • Ensure proper integration of mechanical and electrical components to deliver high-quality, reliable systems.
  • Use computer-aided design software to model, simulate, and optimize system performance.
  • Develop, test, and validate prototypes through both simulations and physical testing.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise to address and resolve design, manufacturing, electronic, and software-related issues, enhancing overall system efficiency.
  • Document design processes, testing procedures, and results to ensure clear communication and adherence to certification, manufacturing, and service standards.
  • Participate in technical review boards, contributing to continuous product improvement and innovation.
  • Oversee Product Configuration Management to maintain alignment between the product’s performance and its intended design.
  • Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with preference for aviation-related experience.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a technical design role, ideally with a background in leading mechanical design and development projects in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proven ability to lead design efforts in products integrating multiple engineering disciplines, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.

Skills:

  • Expertise in SOLIDWORKS/PDM, Unigraphics, or Siemens NX, with a strong ability to produce models, drawings, and detailed technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management practices.
  • Technical expertise in software development and electrical engineering is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in customer-facing communications.
  • High standards of integrity, loyalty, and a strong customer service attitude.
