Mechanical Project Coordinator

A top tier mid-sized mechanical contractor is currently looking to add an experienced coordinator / junior project manager to the team! Ideally, they are looking for someone with 2-4 years of experience in a coordinator role with a focus on Toronto downtown retrofit projects. The successful candidate will work on a variety of construction projects related to commercial towers and commercial retail. As a key member of the team, you will be required to assist with the development and management of project schedules thereby ensuring successful projects.

Qualifications:

-Construction Technical Diploma and/or equivalent trade experience and knowledge

- 2+ years’ experience in a Mechanical Coordinator position

-Planning and scheduling ability

-Understanding of project forecasting and projections

-Ability to read drawings and project

-Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products

-Dispute resolution and negotiation ability

Sample of Responsibilities:

-Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

-Assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy

-Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines

-Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors

-Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts

-Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs

-Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships

-Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients

-Document control

-Purchase supplies and materials as required to complete project
