Job Responsibilities include:

  • Schedules, plans and implements daily mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Supervises staff: Trains, schedules, assigns employees, approves vacation and overtime. Also monitors performance and administers discipline process.
  • Assigns and monitors staff to minimize downtime and assure continuous operations.
  • Approves time in KRONOS, processes and assures the accuracy of payroll authorization on a weekly basis.
  • Performs scheduled repairs; forecasts manpower requirements; contractor requirements; and materials and plans for outages; responds to unscheduled repair requests. Tracks maintenance delays and determines root cause.
  • Schedules preventive maintenance work; secures required materials (quotations; performs evaluation of quotes) and assures provision of sufficient manpower.
  • Implements safety policies and procedures; makes safety contacts and maintains safety records.
  • Maintains work area and supervises housekeeping activities in the maintenance areas.
  • Assures conformance to quality standards.
  • Assures provision of required parts including specs and drawings; identifies and selects vendors, obtains quotes and makes recommendations to purchasing. Runs vendor trials if required.
  • Researches pricing and coordinates scheduling of outside contractors and employees for special projects.
  • Manages continuous improvement and other special projects, for example, equipment redesign, updating of drawings, etc.
