Core Responsibilities:
Advance the team effort by utilizing multifaceted skills to quickly learn and complete the following, with guidance and mentorship from supervisor and senior team members:
- Set up drawing backgrounds received by the architect/owner.
- Perform engineering calculations per discipline.
- Prepare plans, details, and diagrams in such specialties as plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and general piping systems for non-complex projects or those of limited scope.
- Analyze mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing engineering problems as they arise and formulate solutions.
- Ensure MEP design is executed in compliance with company CAD and BIM standards.
- Understand compliance with code standards and industry best practices.
- Ensure drawings are coordinated with other disciplines.
- Assist and participate in CA phase of projects, including submittal reviews and RFI responses.
Work under the guidance and expertise of the Senior staff to:
- Develop client management techniques and relationships.
- Develop, track, and maintain project schedules to ensure deliverables are completed to ensure client expectations are met.
- Assist team members and other senior individuals in all phases of projects.
- Along with senior staff, help prepare for and attend client meetings.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Research applicable codes, entitlement process and permit requirements to ensure compliance.
- Prepare technical memoranda and reports addressing specific mechanical-related issues.
- Assist senior staff with the appropriate level of documentation for project context.
- Prepare maps, figures, and visualizations of data for use in reports and presentations.
- Maintain notes during calls and meetings and maintain field notes from site visits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university.
- 1-6 years of experience in the built environment.
- FE/EIT preferred; Licensed Professional Engineer encouraged.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Proficiency in design and documentation.
- Proficiency in the principles, practices, and trends of MEP systems - experience with plumbing systems is a plus.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Passion for collaboration throughout the development and execution of projects.
