The Opportunity
This Mechanical Engineer opportunity offers the chance to step directly into a high‑impact, highly visible role within a strong and well‑respected design‑build mechanical organization. This is not a behind‑the‑scenes engineering seat—this position places you at the center of preconstruction and design processes, where your technical insight directly shapes multimillion‑dollar projects across data centers, cleanrooms, labs, healthcare facilities, office buildings, and other complex environments.
As a core technical authority embedded in a collaborative design‑build model, you influence project direction from concept through construction. You will create mechanical construction documents, guide system selections, size equipment, evaluate load calculations, and provide technical leadership that sets the tone for project success.
Projects often span years and involve sophisticated market segments, which means your work directly contributes to long‑term client relationships and project continuity. In this seat, you’ll see your designs come to life in the field, partner closely with sales engineers and preconstruction teams, and influence both near‑term project outcomes and long‑term business growth.
This is an opportunity to join an environment that invests heavily in its engineers, values your voice, and encourages innovation, technical mastery, and true ownership of your work.
The Company
This organization has grown into a leading mechanical design‑build contractor by combining deep technical capability with a people‑centric culture and long‑standing client partnerships. Founded by a team that had already worked together for decades, the company was built around quality, integrity, technical excellence, and doing right by clients and employees alike.
The company’s reputation is anchored in technical capability—particularly in complex markets such as biotech, pharmaceuticals, data centers, healthcare, higher education, and multifamily developments. Its design‑build model allows engineers to participate in the full project lifecycle, while intentional and steady growth has maintained a culture of trust, collaboration, and long‑term professional development.
The organization offers extensive in‑house training programs, rotational engineering opportunities, apprenticeship pathways, and specialty certifications. A unique, invitation‑only shareholder program is available to high‑impact team members, creating a meaningful long‑term ownership opportunity rarely found in the industry.
The environment is high‑trust and low‑bureaucracy, giving engineers the autonomy to be creative, challenge processes, pursue new ideas, and contribute in significant ways from day one.
The Boss
This position reports directly to an Engineering Manager known for fostering collaboration, mentorship, and technical excellence. The engineering team is further supported by a senior engineer responsible for final document review and stamping, ensuring quality control and professional oversight.
The role works closely with technically trained sales‑engineer‑type preconstruction managers who rely on engineering expertise during conceptual design and early‑phase client engagement. The environment is supportive, communicative, and structured to enable both mentorship and technical leadership.
The Position
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing high‑quality mechanical system designs for in‑house design‑build projects. Work spans conceptual design, system selection, load calculations, energy analysis, equipment sizing, code review, engineering documentation, and constructability support.
Engineers partner closely with preconstruction managers, project managers, CAD specialists, and field teams. This organization strongly encourages engineers to visit job sites to see their designs executed in the field, interact with installers, and refine solutions based on real‑world application—something that is often missing in traditional consulting roles.
This is an excellent role for an engineer with strong HVAC design experience who wants a long‑term professional home, a collaborative culture, and high‑impact work.
