Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer / Team Leader in the Atlanta GA area

Salary range: 110-130k

Responsibilities

• Support the company with the design of complex HVAC systems.

• Represent the company’s mechanical expertise in a client-facing role, with the ability to answer client questions and solve problems in real time.

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers, with the ability to mentor staff in both technical engineering skills and soft skills such as client and team communication, project management, and leadership.

• Oversee the preparation of 2- and 3-dimensional construction documents.

• Work with our Energy and Sustainability group to develop life cycle cost analysis and green building certification documentation.

• Lead design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.

• Plan project production process.

• Lead the performance of contract administration duties including site visits, submittal review and contractor assistance.

• Perform project management of a multi-discipline team of engineers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrates a high-level understanding of HVAC system concepts, specifically that relates to healthcare projects.

• Ability to design and manage large, complex building HVAC systems.

• Possess a solid technical base with desire to learn, lead, and grow into one of the firm’s lead mechanical engineers and project management for building types including healthcare, higher education, science and technology, workplace, and many others.

• Ability to prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures.

• Possess strong written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• PE strongly preferred

• LEED Accredited Professional preferred.

• Seven to Ten years’ (7-10) experience in the HVAC consulting business, with a focus in healthcare design preferred

• Experience with large institutional projects where the candidate’s role was the lead mechanical engineer

• Experience where the candidate’s role included not only lead technical design leader, but also multi-discipline project manager preferred.
