Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Mechanical Drafter Designer in the Houston TX area

Position Summary:
Provide design efforts from inception through production both in new product design and
in existing product redesign.

Duties:
• Creates 3D models and 2D drawings of fabrication and machining detailed
layouts, assemblies, and detail drawings for new or improved products
• Work with Engineering, Quality Control, Machining Supervisors, and Fabrication
Supervisors to define problem areas and implement product improvements
based on customer repair/rejection concerns
• Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or
alternate constructions.
• Work with Engineering and other Departments on various project requirements
such as customer specifications, project schedule, and troubleshooting large
assembly components

• Able to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
• Able to use 2D CAD software (AutoCAD is preferred)
• Able to use 3D modeling software (Inventor is preferred)
• Able to comprehend and apply basic mathematic principles to drawings.
• Able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of
intellectual and practical problems
• Able to move from design concept to finished design, including layouts, tolerance
valuations and detail drawings
• Understands basic welding and machining processes for producing
manufacturing drawings
