SYMVIONICS has an immediate opening for a Materials Control Technician / Supply Technician at Edwards Air Force Base, CA

SYMVIONICS provides engineers and other professionals under government contract to satisfy requirements for systems engineering and software development. This work directly supports the Test and Evaluation (T&E) mission of the 412 Test Wing, Electronic Warfare Group (EWG), of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), located at Edwards AFB, CA. Specific tasks are defined by the Test and Evaluation, Modeling and Simulation (TEMS) program contract, and are accomplished in support of the 772d Test Squadron (TS/EWOS). The 772d TS/EWOS provides real-time, high­ fidelity, man-in-the-loop flight simulators. These simulators are primarily used to reduce risk and increase confidence in testing, as well as envelope expansion, maneuver/practice definition, flight- control system failures, aircrew and engineer training, pilot/vehicle interface, accident anomaly investigation, parameter sensitivity studies, and test mission planning/dry runs. Currently, SYMVIONICS supports both the hardware and software upgrades and enhancements as identified and as required, both commercial off the shelf (COTS) and newly developed enhancements. The flight simulators enhance the capability of the Air Force to carry out Performance and Flying Qualities (P&FQ) as well as Mission Avionics test and evaluation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Acceptable candidates shall support the 772d TS/EWOS maintenance element’s efforts in providing material control function support. He/she shall work independently and as part of a team to develop/analyze design requirements. The employee shall support the TEMS material control function consisting of tracking Information Technology (IT) equipment, consumable materials, tool control and issuing, tracking calibration of test equipment and assigning control numbers and marking of equipment in accordance with current 772 TS inventory control processes. Support technicians and administrator functions with acquisition receiving, checking orders to ensure part numbers are correct, powering up units to ensure the unit works out of the box and removing packing materials. Creating Return Material Authorizations with manufactures for shipping and receiving of repairs. The contractor shall support the radar bench and F-16 SIL test equipment for calibration and repair with Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL). The contractor shall submit reports of all Inventory / Utilization Data. Additonal duties may include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Closely coordinate task resource allocations and deadlines with 772d TS/EWOS maintenance element lead, as well as the SYMVIONICS Program Manager, to ensure satisfactory completion of projects.

  • Ensure that all deliverables satisfy customer requirements and that assigned tasks are completed within budget and on time.

  • Follow government processes and procedures to ensure that the project complies with Government standards and the Quality Management program.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship is required and a VALID / CURRENT SECRET Clearance or the ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance is mandatory.

Education and/or Experience and Education

A Bachelors degree is preferred and 3 years of supply and inventory controls experience, experience with or equivalent combined training and relevant experience for a non-degreed specialist.

Experience and Knowledge of the Following

TCMax inventory control / update property database, conduct physical audits of real
property / equipment locations.
MicroSoft Suite (Word, Powerpoint & Excel) and Windows 10.
Tracking of Information & Technology (IT) equipment.
Consumables & non-consumables materials.
Tool & Bench-Stock control and issuing.
Tracking of calibration items and maintenance of test equipment.
Assigning control numbers, knowledge of item part numbers and NSN.
Marking equipment within established control policies & processes.
Receiving / checking orders for correct part numbers and removing/adding packing
materials.
Knowledge and experience with RMA for shipping / receiving of equipment and
repairs.
Support test and bench equipment for calibration / within Precision Measurement
Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) or like system. This would include tracking,
reporting, inspections, paperwork submittal IAW all Inventory / Utilization Data.

None required. Note: USAF Security & Information Assurance (IA) requirements must be met for Common Access Card (CAC). A Common Access Card is required for this position.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to an office environment with extended periods of time spent sitting at a desk using a computer. Lifting may be required, not to exceed 25 pounds.
