MASTER SCHEDULER/PLANNER
TALLASSEE, AL

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manufacturing Master Scheduler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing the production schedules for our metal fabrication plant. This role is critical in ensuring that our production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and on time, meeting both customer demand and our company's strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule Management:
    • Develop and maintain the master production schedule for the metal fabrication plant.
    • Coordinate with production, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure schedules are feasible and aligned with production capabilities and resource availability.
    • Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in customer orders, material availability, and production delays.
  2. Capacity Planning:
    • Analyze production capacity and load to ensure resources are optimized and production targets are met.
    • Identify potential bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance production flow and efficiency.
  3. Inventory Control:
    • Collaborate with the inventory management team to maintain appropriate levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
    • Ensure inventory levels are in line with production schedules and customer demand.
  4. Coordination and Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between various departments (production, procurement, sales, and logistics) to ensure clear communication and alignment on scheduling priorities.
    • Facilitate regular meetings to review schedule status, address issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilize production data and metrics to track performance against the schedule.
    • Generate reports on schedule adherence, production efficiency, and other key performance indicators.
    • Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in scheduling practices.
  6. Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure that scheduling practices comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to production schedules and changes.
