Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time permanent Master Scheduler at our manufacturing hub in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Master Scheduler will apply their existing knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, material requirements planning, and business acumen. This role will develop and execute production plans in line with strategies aimed at fulfilling all customer requirements while also satisfying the needs of the business.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Create, monitor, and maintain a Master Production Schedule that is a doable plan for all firm and prospective customer requirements.
  • Evaluate customer demand to develop level loaded, doable schedules that meet the delivery schedule while minimizing lead times and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Participate in the quotation review process for prospective work quotations to propose a Master Production Schedule.
  • Review and analyze load and capacity, queue and moves, lead times, and material requirements to validate schedule feasibility and identify potential shortfalls.
  • Ensure that all eligible prospective work and firm work is profiled and maintained through Rough Cut Capacity planning.
  • Evaluate internally driven and customer driven deviations to the schedule to ensure that doable plans are maintained and major disruptions to the MPS are avoided.
  • Chair monthly cross-functional Rate Review Meetings to flag risks and communicate changes to the level loaded Master Production Schedule.
  • Communicate with external customers to demonstrate planning capabilities and rate readiness.
  • Ensure that planning parameters in the MPS/MRP system are routinely reviewed and kept up to date.
  • Co-ordinate the execution of the plan with Material Planning, Production, Procurement, and Contracts.
  • Produce daily and weekly reports to present concise status of progress and actions.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

  • University degree or College diploma in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management, Engineering, or other relevant degree (required).
  • 20 years of experience in Materials Management with a minimum of 10 years of Master Planning experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • APICS / ASCM - CPIM certification required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment (preferably in Aerospace) required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills to influence and communicate effectively across the organization as well as with external parties.

The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in a Manufacturing environment, with understanding of:

  • Master Data, MRP Scheduling, and Capacity Planning.
  • Understanding/Application of Production and Inventory Management principles and concepts within MRP planning systems (e.g. CINCOM, SAP).
  • Maintaining/Assessing the integrity of the MRP environment and the detail schedules within that environment.
  • Balancing supply and demand to create/maintain doable plans.

Candidates should have the ability to demonstrate their proficiency through:

  • Providing creative and systemic solutions through a detailed understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), acquired through education and past experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills required to evaluate detail production planning and identification of resource constraints, risks, and opportunities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skillset (i.e. pivot tables, filters, advanced formulas, macros, VBA, external data sources, automation, MS Office Integration, etc.).
  • A knowledge base that can be leveraged to provide systemic solutions to ensure MRP integrity in support of on-time deliveries.
