Marketing Officer

The Marketing Officer will coordinate internal marketing and public relations efforts, focusing on social and digital media strategy and building brand awareness. The role also involves supporting the Marketing and PR Manager in implementing various marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and update the organization’s website.
- Oversee all social media platforms.
- Organize pre-event communications (e.g., emails, online/offline ads) to promote events.
- Develop PR campaigns and track the effectiveness of advertising activities.
- Assist in producing marketing materials and maintaining a corporate image.
- Participate in events such as school visits, expos, fairs, and networking activities.
- Monitor and report on online campaigns and overall marketing performance.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and trend reports.
- Align marketing strategies with recruitment and admissions goals.
- Maintain relationships with media agencies and develop key messaging.
- Provide regular reports on campaign performance, ROI, and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, Mass Communication or related fields.
- Minimum four (4) years’ experience in a sales or marketing role preferably in the higher education field.
Technical
- Significant working knowledge in Marketing, PR and emerging marketing trends
- Excellent research, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Significant knowledge of brand management
- Strong business and marketing acumen
- Proposal writing skills
- Good Knowledge of digital marketing
Planning and Organizing Skills required
- Experience of planning, prioritizing and organizing work on daily, weekly and monthly basis, individually and as part of a team, while ensuring the effective use of resources and delivering to tight deadlines
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with experience of managing a large range of different stakeholders
Communication Skills Required
- Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent influencing skills and the ability to communicate with credibility, tact and diplomacy internally and externally
- Excellent report writing skills
- Excellent presentation skills
Initiative and Problem-Solving Skills Required
- Experience of using initiative and creativity to resolve problems, that may be predictable but not routine, identifying practical and suitable solutions
IT Skills Required
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Proficient in internet use
