The marina features 150 deep-water slips accommodating vessels of various sizes, on-site fuel, haul-out and launch capabilities, winter storage, full service repair facility and direct access to some of the most desirable cruising waters in the region. Castaways is the Northeast dealership for Beneteau and Solaris Yachts, featuring vessels in the 35’ to 70’ range and servicing all warranty repairs. POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Marine Systems Technician to service and repair 30’-70’ yacht systems, as well as support broader mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance.

The role includes diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and ensuring the safe, reliable operation of customer vessels.

This position is central to delivering a top-tier service experience for Club members and visiting boaters in one of the busiest boating regions in the Northeast. Additional responsibilities

include operating the travel lift, hydraulic trailer, crane and helping with additional facility maintenance needs as required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Diagnose, repair, and service marine mechanical, electrical, plumbing and hydraulic systems.

Perform seasonal, corrective and preventative maintenance on engines and general boat systems.

Troubleshoot and repair boats and associated marine equipment.

Install, repair, and maintain and/or knowledge of marine electronics such as GPS/plotters, VHF radios, fish finders, and communication/navigation systems.

Conduct detailed vessel inspections to identify necessary repairs, safety issues, or system failures.

Help source, order, and manage parts, supplies, and inventory with awareness of peak seasonal demand.

Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work environment on the docks, in the shop, and throughout service areas.

Keep accurate records of all repairs, diagnostics, parts orders, and maintenance actions.

Follow all marina safety protocols and maintain a high standard of safe work practices in a waterfront environment.

Ability to operate travel lift and associated boat yard equipment as demand requires.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong technical proficiency with marine systems on 30’-70’ recreational boats.

Ability to read/interpret blueprints, schematics, service manuals, and use modern diagnostic equipment.

Solid understanding of marine electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to assess, diagnose, and resolve issues efficiently.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, team members, suppliers, and management.

Proficiency with marine diagnostic software and tools.

Commitment to delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

High attention to detail, accuracy, and workmanship.

Ability to adapt within a fast-paced, seasonal environment where priorities shift with weather, customer demand, and marina operations.
