Individuals in these positions are responsible for managing groups of employees in a department, planning for production requirements, maintaining production goals, implementing manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives; ensuring safety requirements are met and maintained as well as overseeing departmental inventory levels.

In this position the preferred candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Some related post - secondary education and or previous management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Hands on manufacturing experience as well as practical and theoretical experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing process principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills along with a sense of urgency and personal accountability.
  • Mechanical aptitude as well as basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) would be required.

The ideal candidate should possess some knowledge of a manufacturing management experience, be a team player, be able to work independently and also have the desire to improve their individual skill sets. The ability to work with people, coach, teach and mentor are key attributes for candidates to be successful in these roles. The individual will be required to occasionally work overtime and must be flexible to work the morning and afternoon shift.
