About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a high-volume packaging manufacturer in Chicago that produces folding carton solutions in a fast-paced plant environment. The facility includes printing, cutting, finishing, and warehousing operations, supported by recent equipment investment and a culture that values internal growth. This opening comes at an important time. After several internal changes, the night shift needs a steady, hands-on leader who can bring structure, accountability, and consistency to the team. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor, coaching people, and helping improve quality, waste, and overall shift performance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead night shift production for a team of about 35 employees across departments.
- Set expectations around output, quality, waste, safety, and daily execution.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, workflow, and issue resolution during the shift.
- Coach and develop a newer team that needs consistent leadership and accountability.
- Partner with plant leadership to communicate performance and escalate key issues.
- Support quality and waste improvement efforts across the operation.
- Work closely with maintenance and other functions to address production challenges.
- Reinforce safe work practices, housekeeping, and compliance with plant standards.
- Support Safe Quality Food responsibilities, corrective actions, and audit follow-up.
Who You Are
You’re a hands-on manufacturing leader who brings consistency, accountability, and strong floor presence. You know how to coach people, solve problems, and keep a team focused on a fast-moving environment. You’re comfortable stepping into a shift that needs direction and momentum. You communicate clearly, led by example, and know how to build trust while raising expectations.
Preferred Experience & Attributes
- Manufacturing production experience required.
- Prior plant supervisory experience preferred.
- Four-year degree and/or direct equipment experience in folding carton required.
- Printing experience preferred.
- Quality background is a plus.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage shift priorities effectively.
- Comfortable working a 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
- Continuous improvement mindset with focus on quality and waste reduction.

Reporting Structure
