Manufacturing Machine Maintenance Technician - Smyrna, GA
Position Overview:
Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing machinery and related equipment and infrastructure.
Shift Availability:
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems to diagnose and repair faulty equipment, parts, and systems.
- Use precision measuring tools such as dial indicators and accuracy gauges to ensure proper function of machine components, making necessary corrections and adjustments.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment, including routine cleaning, minor repairs, and inspections.
- Handle the installation, removal, and modification of equipment as required or assigned.
- Program and monitor test equipment and data loggers.
- Inspect and test machinery to ensure it meets specifications.
- Record and document all work using CMMS and related systems, maintaining accurate maintenance and repair logs.
- Inform production leadership of maintenance and repair activities using established procedures.
- Schedule planned downtime with production supervision.
- Monitor and recommend spare parts inventory.
- Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Perform all tasks with safety and quality as standard procedures.
- Demonstrate flexibility in schedule and workload, and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and follow instructions.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills.

Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience or a combination of training and experience.
- Proficient in DC/AC repair and troubleshooting, reading machine prints (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC (Siemens), HMI, Profibus, industrial communications).
- Experience in electrical and mechanical machine repair (e.g., plastic/metal injection molding, CNC milling 3&5 axis, CNC turning machines).
- Experience with process machinery (heating, cooling, gas metering, vacuum, valves, electronic controls) such as furnaces, heat treatment, and chemical washing.
- Fanuc robot maintenance and repair experience is a plus.
- Exceptional mechanical ability with advanced tool shop knowledge (lathe, mill, drill press, welding, and fabrication).
- Strong mathematics skills and knowledge of the metric system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
