Anderson Biro Staffing is partnering with a leading contract manufacturer specializing in advanced materials and complex manufacturing processes. We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Development Engineer to support process development, new product introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Development Engineer will apply engineering principles to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance by reducing waste, minimizing process variation, and enhancing operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in supporting new product launches and strengthening overall manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and report manufacturing KPIs related to productivity, utilization, efficiency, and yield
  • Conduct risk assessments (FMEA) for new and existing processes and products
  • Maintain and enhance process documentation, including control plans, routings, BOMs, and manufacturing standards
  • Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and corrective action initiatives
  • Develop and validate manufacturing processes using APQP methodologies
  • Support new product development, trials, and transition into full production
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams on tooling, equipment, and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, process, or product engineering
  • 3–5 years of project leadership experience

Skills & Experience

  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Lean Six Sigma and project management experience
  • Strong background in process and product engineering
  • Cost estimating and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of materials, specifications, and industry standards (AS9100 experience preferred)
  • Tooling, jig, and fixture design experience
  • 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks and/or CATIA)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
