Manufacturing Data Integration Specialist

We are excited to announce a direct hire opportunity for a Manufacturing Data Integration Specialist at a leading manufacturing company located in the Cincinnati area. This vital role is designed for a dynamic, technically skilled individual who is passionate about leveraging data to enhance manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless flow and integration of data across various manufacturing systems and business intelligence platforms. This position requires hands-on involvement on the plant floor, offering the right candidate the opportunity to greatly impact production efficiencies and decision-making processes.

Salary: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain SQL queries and databases to manage and analyze manufacturing data.
  • Build and optimize APIs for integrating various manufacturing systems (PLCs, SCADA) with enterprise applications to ensure real-time data flow and operational monitoring.
  • Handle the integration of PLC systems with data storage and cloud platforms for centralized monitoring and control of manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across all data collection points, implementing robust validation and error-checking protocols.
  • Design and implement data-driven solutions to enhance production reporting, analytics, and dashboard visualizations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all data connectivity and integration issues in the production environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, engineering, and production teams to gather requirements and execute system improvements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on system architectures, API workflows, and database schemas.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in SQL development, database management, and API development (REST, SOAP).
  • Experience with PLCs like Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi and familiarity with industrial communication protocols like Modbus and OPC.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a manufacturing environment and engage effectively with plant floor personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to perform under pressure to minimize downtime during critical operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the capability to convey technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical roles related to data integration, manufacturing systems, or industrial automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Automation or a related field.
  • Knowledge of IoT applications and their utilization in collecting data from industrial devices.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, particularly in manufacturing contexts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, especially their data integration services.
  • Background in PLC programming and thorough understanding of industrial control systems.

Skills:

  • Advanced SQL skills, including query writing, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
  • API development and integration, preferably in manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC systems and data integration into corporate data systems.
  • Capability to manage multilayer data integration projects spanning from data collection to end-user analytics.
  • Dynamic team collaboration and project management skills.
