Magellan Aerospace Haverhill has an exciting opportunity for a skillful and experienced Manual Lathe Machine Operator. This is a full-time permanent position, where the successful candidate will be responsible for Set-up and operation of Manual Lathe, CNC Lathe equipment in a skillful and efficient manner, manufacturing high-precision and quality aerospace components.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and engineering instructions required to produce parts consistently to close tolerances
  • As required perform tool proving & training functions related to all non-turning & turning operations, both NC & manual machines, in production or Tool Room.
  • Perform all necessary layout work & fully utilizing all functions of the machines & attachments to the highest degree of complexity to which the machines & attachments are, or may be, adapted for tools, jigs, & fixtures for production
  • Analyze and improve (debug) new machining methods.
  • Perform calculations and use inspection equipment to verify that all quality requirements are met.
  • Check and maintain oil and coolant levels on a daily basis, monitor the smooth operation of the assigned equipment
  • Responsible for handling waste from their machine.
  • Understand and follow the safety rules including keeping a neat and clean work area.
  • Diligently perform all duties in a highly productive manner.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Vocational School with hands on training at school or in a machine shop.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a machining manufacturing environment
