Manager of Surgical Services

The Surgical Services Manager is responsible for developing and implementing both the hospital and nursing initiatives and strategies to ensure that quality patient care is provided in a cost effective manner. This role is responsible for strategic planning, business development, physician relations, market share growth, and operational oversight for a broad portfolio of services. The department responsibilities include Surgery, Post-Operative Services/PACU, Discharge Unit, Anesthesia Operations, Central Sterile Supply, and Medical Inventory Management Department.

The Surgical Services Manager is responsible for organizing, planning, and directing the clinical and administrative operations within Surgical Services in accordance with their vision and mission. Ensures the efficient and effective utilization of human, material, and fiscal resources for the provision of patient care, program development, and market share growth. This individual oversees budget management and performance and fiscal oversight of all areas of responsibility. In conjunction with the medical staff, meets the needs of identified patient populations by evaluating and improving existing programs and services, or developing new programs and services.

Qualifications:

  • Current nursing license in State of Illinois.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • In addition to staff level experience, at least 5 years of progressive experience in health care management is required.
