Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer for a nationwide logistics company with over 100 locations and thousands of independent-owner operator drivers providing services to include dedicated fleet-outsourcing, hot shot delivery, logistics, and courier.
Responsible for leading and managing daily operations to achieve business goals and maximize profitability. The successful individual will perform efficiently in a high-pressure environment and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills while leading & managing people, ensuring smooth operations, and achieving and exceeding revenue targets. Will supervise the operations team consisting of freight coordinators, freight brokers, load planners, dispatchers, and a growing fleet of local and regional 3PLs. Oversees daily operations, manages budgets, and sets performance objectives. Identifies and manages internal issues, customer concerns, incident reports, and legal actions. Recruits, trains, and supports general managers as well as conducts regular performance appraisals. Manages internal and external stakeholder relations and negotiates contracts and purchases. Plans, evaluates, and optimizes operations efficiently and cost-effectively while ensuring products and services comply with regulatory and quality standards. Manages Freight TMS and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L with detailed analysis. Ensures company standards and procedures are followed consistently.

Background Required:
  • Transportation and Logistics (5 years)
  • Management & leadership experience, managing multiple locations (3 years)
  • Multimodal (e.g., FTL-LTL, Final Mile, Domestic Freight Forwarding, Hotshot, Expedite)
  • P & L Management
  • Business Plan development and implementation
  • Negotiations
  • Metrics measurements (e.g., pricing, delivery, costs, quality)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office, CRM Systems, Project Management tools
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Residence: Houston, TX (Relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management
  • Verticals: Furniture & Fixtures
  • Domestic Freight Forwarding operations, multiple sites, national level
