Manager Med/Surg RN

Our client is a 300+ bed hospital with a 24-hour emergency room with a Level II Trauma Center, award-winning Heart Center, and burn clinic. The selected candidate is responsible for planning, organizing, and staffing and directing functions to ensure the effective operation of the unit.

Job Responsibilities:

• Will ensure effective, flexible utilization of staff within staffing guidelines, taking into consideration the staff's competency and patient acuity.
• Model leadership behavior, set expectations for team work and hold staff accountable for performance.
• Guides the staff in the implementation of the nursing process and directs the cost effective allocation of resources.

Qualifications:

Education Required AND/OR Preferred:

• ASN required, BSN preferred.

Experience Required OR Preferred:

• 2+ years related experience. Acute care or specialty nursing experience as appropriate.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated success and abilities in leadership, achieving results, communications, customer service and health care management.

Licensure/Certification:

• RN license in the state and BLS and ACLS plus required specialty certifications.
