POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will have responsibilities over many facets of SEC Reporting, particularly 10-Q's,10-Ks and Proxy Statements. Some responsibilities include: consolidations, drafting financial statements, drafting footnotes, reviewing, researching and implementing new accounting pronouncements, managing the stock compensation platform, and drafting contemporaneous technical accounting memos. Individuals should be comfortable working with minimal supervision, be comfortable analyzing complex accounting processes, procedures, and circumstances and apply sound reasoning and judgment in making application decisions relative to SEC filings. Applicants should be comfortable evaluating internal controls and SOX 404 compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the financial reporting process, including, preparation and review of quarterly and annual financials
Prepare and/or review quarterly and annual Management discussion and analysis reporting
• Review financial disclosures for accuracy and completeness
• Manage consolidation and reconciliation of equity accounts
• Accounting for stock-based compensation
• Research technical accounting issues and prepare memorandum of accounting treatment
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews
• Prepare and/or review “prepared by client” files for auditor review and testing
• Collaborate with internal audit to ensure adherence and maintenance of internal controls
• Assist in the annual 401k Plan audit and financial statement preparation
• Provide financial reporting for various regulatory, licensing and compliance bodies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS):

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, advanced education preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience, public company/private company accounting mix with external reporting responsibilities is required
• CPA required
• SEC filing and XBRL experience required
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
• Financial reporting compliance and workflow software (e.g., Workiva, etc.) experience highly preferred
• Big 4 public accounting experience a plus
• Great Plains and Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience a plus
