The position is with a billion dollar manufacturing company. The company offers an outstanding 5 and 10 year compensation plan based upon profit sharing.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certifications and Experience: Professional Engineering license and/or 15 years of relevant experience in engineering leadership or a related discipline.
- Forging experience big plus.
- Expertise in finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics.
- Advanced proficiency in modeling software.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- High mechanical aptitude and innovative problem-solving capabilities.
- Expertise in interpreting blueprints, selecting materials, specifying tolerances, and understanding manufacturing processes.
- Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams.
- Strong negotiation and project management expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide, mentor, and cultivate the technical and professional capabilities of engineering team members to drive innovation and performance excellence.
- Oversee the design process to ensure equipment specifications, functionality, and performance meet manufacturing demands for systems such as presses, mobile machinery, heat treatment units, and precision tools.
- Direct research and development for innovative processes and equipment, delivering strategic recommendations based on performance, budget, return on investment (ROI), quality, and safety metrics.
- Lead the creation of mechanical system architectures and component designs using advanced modeling platforms.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards through thorough analysis, validation, and due diligence, prioritizing safety and quality.
- Specify and select components for mechanical and hydraulic systems, ensuring durability and safety through detailed analysis (hand calculations, spreadsheets, and Finite Element Analysis).
- Define material requirements for components, factoring in manufacturing processes and mechanical properties.
- Review and finalize detailed component and assembly drawings, ensuring accuracy in tolerances, fits, dimensional analysis, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Manage procurement activities, including the preparation and review of bills of materials, hardware specifications, budgets, cost analyses, ROI evaluations, and contractual documentation.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and financial performance, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders on project milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure mechanical deliverables align with project goals.
- Partner with maintenance and production teams to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency through targeted improvements.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure optimal equipment operation and maintenance practices.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting expertise and technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
- Monitor emerging technologies, assess their relevance, and develop business cases for strategic investments to improve operational efficiency and competitive positioning.
- Oversee the commissioning and integration of new or upgraded equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Compensation: $140 – 150K Base Salary
