Our client is not-for-profit, 20 bed Critical Access Hospital and associated Rural Health Clinic with over 160 employees. Their service area borders the second largest protected wilderness in the contiguous United States. Duties:
• The Surgical Services Nurse Manager has responsibility and primary accountability in supervising the surgical department which includes preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative departments.
• The Surgical Services Nurse Manager focuses on safe effective patient care, patient education, customer satisfaction and quality outcomes, maintains financial stability, and facilitates a an environment rich in staff development with an emphasis on evidence based practice and education.
• The Surgical Services Nurse Manager is responsible for staff scheduling, monitors patient outcomes, checks results, controls costs, conducts unit staff appraisals for performance, and conducts monthly unit staff meetings.
• The Surgical Services Nurse Manager provides direct supervision to the nurses and techs assigned to the surgical units as appropriate.
• The Surgical Services Nurse Manager will interact and communicate with the CNO to provide input for overall strategic planning for the departments.
Qualifications:
• Requires current Idaho or other compact state RN license and a minimum of 5 years management experience.
• BSN and CNOR preferred. Required: BLS and ACLS.
• Recommended: PALS.
• Certifications may be obtained within first 6 months of employment.
