They have an opening for a true "A" player to spearhead their rapidly expanding Surgical Services department with responsibility over 200+ FTEs!
The RN Department Manager oversees and manages the clinical, operational and fiscal performance of the department; to include: Gastro-Intestinal Lab, Same Day Surgery, PACU, Sterile Processing, Ambulatory Surgery Unit and Operating Room. This is a twenty-four hour responsibility. Emphasis is placed on clinical expertise in Surgical and Procedural nursing. Responsibilities for the department includes: support and promotion of hospital and community, staff development, capital and operational budgets processes and functionality of the Surgical Services. The Surgical Services Department Manager assumes responsibility for the operation of a designated patient care unit on a twenty-four hour, seven day per week basis.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Current licensure as an RN in the State of
· Masters degree with 2 years clinical experience in the area of concentration or
Baccalaureate Degree with 5 years current experience in area of concentration or
· Diploma or Associate Degree with 10 years current clinical experience in the area of concentration, National Certification in area of Specialty, if available.
· Five (5) years of experience in acute nursing care with emphasis in surgical services, with a strong background in management.
· Five (5) years of experience in the areas of interpersonal communications, negotiations, managerial presentation and customer service as this position functions as a liaison between patients, physicians, other staff and the administration.
· Demonstrated in depth knowledge of Operating Room clinical nursing process, performance improvement, budget and accounting, management of staff and scheduling, age specific competency, patient rights and organizational rights, environment of care including regulatory requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
