Our client, a national Real Estate Development and Property Management company based out of the Greater Toronto Area, is seeking a talented Manager Reporting & Income Tax Compliance reporting to the Sr. Director. The company offers a competitive salary and a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you must have a “can do” attitude with a “hands-on” approach to getting the job done. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare consolidation and related public disclosure requirements associated with all quarterly consolidations pertaining to new projects and developments
  • Review all quarterly and annual working papers that relate to the REIT’s reporting and compliance requirements, including but not limited to: the consolidated financial statements and note disclosures therein, the management discussion and analysis (MD&A), and the specified investment flow-through (SIFT) trust model
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of all SIFT related information and related planning initiatives for internal management and board reporting;
  • Preparation and review of the legal entity financial statements for each of the Trust’s underlying subsidiaries that support the year end tax filings (T2, T3 and T5013)
  • Analyze accounting transactions that may have an impact on the REIT’s income tax filings;
  • Assist with re-capitalization of certain partnerships, including equity contributions, for income tax purposes;
  • Assist with the regular maintenance and organization of treasury activities namely share certificates, issuances and


  • Designated CPA, (CA, CMA, CGA) designation required, in conjunction with a minimum of 7+ years experience in Real Estate, commercial or residential development/construction, and or property management industry;
  • Working with the Corporate Accounting and Reporting Team of a publicly traded real estate organization;
  • Experience related to tax structure planning and SIFT related management and reporting;
  • Superior working knowledge of accounting practices as applied to consolidated financial and management reporting (including quarterly reporting and preparation of Management’s Discussion and Analysis reports), cash flow forecasting, financial statement analysis and interpretation in a real estate development and property management environment;
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
