Responsible for executing the Company's Design Engineering strategies/business plan and ensure products meet the need of the organization’s customers. Will also manage the company’s Compliance and new product engineering, materials management and developing project plans, creating master project schedules, scheduling the product delivery process and milestones.

Examples of Duties:

  • Manages Engineering Laboratory and Product Management efforts, including supervision of the Engineering force and the development of sales strategies and tactics.
  • Serve as a key member of the engineering management team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
  • Develop strategic planning for the direction and control of product development activities.
  • Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance of the department.
  • Ensure that product development is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements.
  • Monitors and collaborates with regulatory agencies for current, past, and future projects in a manner that keeps the company up to date and in good standing with said agency.
  • Maintains yearly regulatory licensing/compliance. Specifically for state and local requirements for customer projects.
  • Establishes systems to identify, prioritize, evaluate, plan and implement product changes to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure attainment of performance, production, and cost objectives on all products and schedules, including hiring, training, developing, and managing performance.
  • Administers and directs the establishment and modification of product specifications, bills of material, manufacturing processes, sources of supply and testing standards.
  • Develops and administers budgets for materials management and engineering units within appropriate guidelines.
  • Prepares and updates project financial projections. Manages revenues and costs to stay within project budget and achieve improved profitability, cash flow and other financial objectives.
  • Prepares verbal and written analyses, reports, recommendations, and presentations regarding areas of responsibility as directed.
  • Identifies value in terms of the customer perspective and works to get designs that most cost effectively achieve customer value.
  • Manages the design team’s KPIs and uses them to determine if departmental changes are needed
