Manager / Director – Market Intelligence and Competitive Analytics

  • Analyzing relevant data such as competitive information, industry trends, and historical performance across multiple operating locations.
  • Developing business cases for strategic initiatives that include key assumptions, planned return on investment, risks and upside to plan, etc.
  • Building and maintaining financial models to project the impact of strategic initiatives in support of the business case.
  • Working with Sales to evaluate the financial impact of competitive actions.
  • Supporting Company Executives to identify high priority strategies.
  • Analyze impact of strategic plan on current operating models and workflows.
  • Supporting the development of future state operating models and implementation plans to align with strategic initiatives including documentation of process flows and preparation of project plans to execute changes.
  • Identifying resources, including systems requirements needed to build and maintain the strategies.
  • Maintaining project plans, milestone metrics and timelines to implement new processes.
  • Maintaining reports used to update stakeholders and Company Executives on progress and any risks identified.
  • Supporting Company Executives to identify opportunities for business process improvement.
  • Developing business case, including financial impact of proposed business improvements.
  • Embed within the business and provide market and competitor analysis support to leaders within the global Sales organization
  • Conducts research to help the firm better understand the level of demand for services, competitors, and customer needs and behaviors.
  • Helps identify customer decision making process, key considerations, and sources of information.
  • Uses a variety of research techniques, both quantitative and qualitative, to help guide marketing strategy and plans. May need to work with third party research firms.
  • Issues findings in a detailed report and/or presentation that stakeholders can easily understand andutilize to make decisions about marketing plans.
  • Helps evaluate proposals for expanded services and markets.
  • Performs analysis at both a firm level and at a practice or sub-practice level as appropriate.
  • Translate analyses into message points for consulting staff to utilize.
  • Collaborates with Practice Leaders, the marketing team and external marketing partners to develop methods to analyze marketing return on investment (MROI).
  • Design and implement measurement systems for marketing performance by campaign and channel.
  • As necessary, diagnoses under-performance for root causes to determine if plans can be adapted for success.
  • Designs, implements and measures tests of various marketing tactics to determine which will have the better outcome.
  • Creates recommendations for marketing campaigns including channel(s), key message(s), timing and cost ranges.
  • Partners with the marketing team to refine plans based on capabilities, constraints and other factors.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance, MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in consulting, strategic planning, modeling and/or competitive analysis, marketing or professional services
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Retail or CPG experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Visio.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written including presentation skills.
  • Must be able to travel
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders inside and outside of the organization.
