Our client is a 350 bed pediatric hospital located on the San Joaquin River. The hospital has a 45,000-square-mile (120,000 km2) service area covering most of California's central San Joaquin Valley. There are more than 500 doctors on the medical staff. It is a UCSF and now Stanford affiliated teaching hospital. The hospital was the first children's hospital west of the Rockies to receive Magnet Nursing Certification, the highest standard of nursing certification in America. In June 2015 it was announced that they were going to partner with Stanford University School of Medicine to create a graduate medical education program based there!

They have engaged us to find them a Manager of Pharmacy to help take their progressive pharmacy operation to the next level!

SUMMARY: Accountable for assisting the Director of Pharmacy with the development, implementation and oversight of departmental goals and daily operations of the Hospital pharmacy. Responsible for dispensing medications, providing drug consultations and managing staff, ambulatory, and IT pharmacists. Responsible for providing the appropriate data to comply with laws and regulations for state and federal agencies, Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement and productivity. Maintains professional growth and development through active participation in pharmacy related committees, task forces, professional organizations and scholarly activities while representing the dept as assigned. Responsible for oversight of pharmacy related projects including internal and external Information Technology, Pharmacy Automation, Bedside Scanning, Bar Coding, Charge Master, Departmental Data Collection and Reporting, Operational Efficiencies. Supports the implementation and the provision of pharmaceutical care.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required, Masters Degree in public health, business administration or equivalent preferred.
• ASHP Accredited Residency Program preferred. RPH - Reg Pharmacist California State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Minimum three (3) years related experience required. Minimum five (5) years demonstrated proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job.
