About the Role:
Our client, a publicly listed mining company is looking for a Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis to oversee their FP&A function for their Canadian Business Units. This includes the development and maintenance of a variety of financial models, analyses and processes which support management reporting, financial accounting and strategic decision making within the respective Business Units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the overall structure and architecture of the long-range plan and short-range plan models to provide needed functionalities for all users in consultation with the finance and operations functions at the business units.
- Delivery of reliable business unit level budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans to support business decisions.
- Business unit level management reporting, budget presentations and ad-hoc analysis as required.
- Analytical support to functional groups within the business units and corporate office.
- Center of modelling and process documentation excellence within the company which can be deployed to assist other functional areas at their request.
- Subject matter expert and power-user of planning system including assistance with expansion of system to corporate office and other business units.
- Lead development of robust forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes within the Canadian Business Units.
- Post-implementation capital project reviews.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree in business, accounting or engineering.
- Financial modelling experience.
- CPA or CFA Designation is an asset.
- Mining industry experience is an asset.
- Hyperion planning system experience is an asset.
