Manager Cloud DevOps Engineer

Duties May include:

• Contribute both as an individual contributor as well as manage and coordinate architecture and software development across multiple cross functional teams, including the embedded development team and external development team
• Responsible for Cost, Quality, Schedule and uptime for Client's cloud service projects and products
• Manage all activities in all areas of Development Operations and Software Configuration Management.
• Ensure the solution and technical features are delivered according to the requirements, specification and the deliverables are on-time and with high quality.
• Work with cross-functional team and define software requirements
• Define and develop different tools and frameworks to improve security, reliability, maintainability, availability and performance of the product
• Lead and participate in design reviews, code reviews, agile development, unit and system integration tests
• Mentor teams in best practices around cloud architecture practices and design patterns
• Research and understand new technologies, industry trends, and methodologies
• Manage design reviews, code reviews, agile development, unit and system integration tests
• Partner to build and maintain tools for deployment, systems monitoring and operational support; troubleshoot/resolve issues in our automated development, test and production environments.
• Mentor teams in best practices around software process, architecture practices, design patterns and software implementation
• Define product requirements, specification, design and test documents.
• Deliver solution and technical features according to the requirements, and specification and the deliverables are on-time and with high quality.
• Define and develop different tools and frameworks to improve security, reliability, maintainability, availability and performance of the product
• Research and recommend innovative and progressive development operations technologies, solutions and providing justification for proposed solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Nature & Scope:

• Ensures work is aligned with the Director’s expectations, goals, and vision
• Accountable for implementation of policies, processes, and procedures for short-term results
• Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from Senior Manager/Director
• Works on difficult to moderately complex issues and projects
• Provides guidance and training to subordinates
• Has authority to hire, recommend pay, establish performance and recommend for termination
• Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines

Knowledge & Skills:

• Experience in developing, designing, and operating cloud based distributed platforms.
• Must have knowledge of AWS cloud services.
• Experience working on Linux based infrastructure.
• Excellent understanding of Ruby, Python, Perl, and Java
• Configuration and managing databases such as MySQL, Mongo
• Excellent troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles
• Working experience with large scale consumer facing IoT products is strongly preferred.
• Proven success in defining cloud architectures that satisfy security, scalability, high availability, and network management/monitoring requirements.

Experience:

• 10 years plus of working experience in dev ops automation for cloud-based enterprise systems
• 5 years plus years leading teams.
• Experience of designing and implementing scalable, secure, flexible, and maintainable system architectures designed for large scale consumer facing IoT products.
• Experience with different infrastructure components and database technologies, and virtualization technology used to manage infrastructures.

Education:

• BS in Computer Science or related required
• MS in Computer Science preferred
